You may need to look at the virtual store. For example the files for one of the programs I use, "CW_EPG" the files are at:

"C:\Users\Nani\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\CW_EPG"

For another program, "CDCHECK" the files are at:

"C:\Users\Nani\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\CDCheck"

And the same goes for some programs Registry Entries.

Welcome to the world of "User Account Control" (UAC).

Badly written programs that do things that are no longer allowed are detected and stopped!

Note: On an "ADMIN" account you can change Windows Explorer's "Folder and Search Options" to show you Hidden and System files.

Writing to "C:\Program Files (x86)\" is NOT allowed!
