thank you for the responses.  I’m impressed that you can dictate while driving and have the resulting emails be understandable at all. :)  I haven’t tried that.

I have a DriveWire cable and wondered the difference with this software vs. that.  I don’t mind using a PC as the file server.  I do it already for my Atari.

I see the Arduino-based solution listed for $50 + shipping.
