Yes, there are a number of open Radio Shacks in the area.

"Is this a busy area?"  Busy is a relative term.  Downtown Chicago is very
busy.  Lombard is half or a third as busy.

"Is there public transit?"  Some, but not close by.  The closest stop is
next to Lilacia Park in Lombard (2.29 miles from the CoCoFEST!).  There is a
train that goes from there to downtown Chicago.  There is one bus route that
goes south from the train station.  A link to the RTA System Map (which
covers Metra trains and Pace buses) can be found here:

service but not shuttle service.
