Count on it.  At a minimum it will have the wrong sector size.  PCs used 
512-byte sectors and I have to believe that the designers of that 
subsystem chose 256-byte sectors to make life simpler for the OS-9 driver.

Also, have you checked the 256/512 jumper on the Adaptec controller?
