You can flash the new version to any existing bank.  You may want to choose
a bank different from the previous 1.2 version so you can downgrade if some
serious bug is discovered.

SDC-DOS2 was a patch created by Guillaume Major. The patch did not work
correctly on a CoCo 3 and I do not recommend its use.
