Then he goes on to say no damage will be done and suggests a very specific chips to replace the ones related to the MPI upgrade to reduce the possibility of damage. MPI = Multiple Problem Issues.  

Designers of new MPI replacements need to read the Good Doctors words three times at least and the previous words he has written (Issue in text.) 

Y-Cable builders should find the article in March 1992. I got a lot more hits on "Y Cable" finding that one.
