Please try my lwtools and toolshed packages from
https://launchpad.net/~tormodvolden/+archive/ubuntu/m6809 so that we
can eliminate any problems with your builds.

It inverts the bits, so anda #~mask turns off the bits in "mask",
while ora #mask would turn them on.

BTW, any good reason you use Lubuntu 14.10 instead of the stable 14.04
or the newer 15.04?
