I should mention that the program just uses some encoded pre-generated Sudoku puzzles, which it then randomly re-arranges to generate a fairly substantial number of unpredicatable valid puzzles. It doesn't actually create completely new puzzles from scratch, which would be far beyond the capacity of BASIC to achieve in geological time. Jim G.
