That’s another thing I really like. A git clone makes a complete copy of the entire repository, with all the history and changes and everything. Whenever I’ve finished a job for a client I can make them their own clone, zip it up and send it to them, and they can do anything they want with it. I don’t have to give them any login info on my private server, and they are free to hand it off to any other developers they want to. And if they do make some changes and come back to me, I can update my copy from theirs, either direct from their server, or they can zip it up and send it to me.
