[Coco] Windows 10, look very carefully before you leap. And Beware of 3035563.

There are two discussions going on about possible Windows issues that IMHO needed information has not been included. Other's are helping with one and the other's status is unknown. The former's answer does not compute for me.

Having been running Windows 10 a little, I have some comments to make.
First, I decided years ago to have nothing to do with Windows 8(.1) because to me it appeared to just be a large Smart Phone even though I have a thread that's title was expanded to include Windows 8 and then Windows 10. There were few posts past W 7 until Windows 10 was offered FREE.

Then I was roped into finding if it was possible to use Windows 10 with this very old hardware and became a Windows 10 Insider.

Ignoring the Smart Phone view which is very much even truer, this version of Windows (Said to be the last, is "Doors" Microsoft's next?) is not your Grand Fathers Windows. (I am able to get W 10 FREE because Insider Grand Fathers are included even though they may not have a system with the qualifying W 7 or W 8 Genuine Windows installed. Just be aware of a very bumpy ride is possible. I downloaded build 10158 the other night in ~ 7 Hours and it would not install. No problem, build 10159 was released the next night with 300 more fixes. I am waiting for the ".iso" now. What was made RTM status I may never know.)

I would describe Windows 10 like a window is broken and all the houses contents are trashed, hidden, stolen or put in places you would never think of looking in. Lots of things a text search is needed before normal things appear.

If you have a Smart Phone, a tablet and several PCs you may be very happy that all your files are available everywhere. My first impression was of walking around a Microsoft building naked with a cable coming out my backside. At one point I feared that I just had put ALL my passwords into the cloud. NO.

Hate the command line, you may be more happy. Locked into old habit's like me, not so much.

Will VCC run, sure it just is an application. Java is installed so DriveWire should be fine. "DOSBOX" and other tricks may run even better. Floppy's, likely even harder.

Running Windows 7 or 8(.1) beware of automatically installed windows update 3035563.

It's the little Icon where you get to sign up for the FREE Windows 10 but beware of the 3-4 GB download and prepare for the possibility of wanting to go back. Lots of words on the Internet about that. The Icon can be removed.
