[Coco] Has anyone ever seen one of these? - Unassembled CoCo2

Has anyone ever seen or remember hearing of Color Computers
being sold in an unassembled state?

I just bought this on ebay, it appears to be an unassembled CoCo2.
The seller says all the parts appear to be in the box.

Were these things ever sold as kits, or have I stumbled across some
sample or developer kit or what?
