It would probably be easier and maybe even cheaper to use the more-common
4 and 8-position DIP switch, and just let the unused portion hang over the
end of the socket, if you have the room.
I've never seen nor heard of a 3 position DIP switch. I think Radio Shack
used to sell 4 position DIP switches, since I have some of those in my
parts drawers.
