[Coco] Building dual drives

I would make the 5 1/4 drive 0, and the 3.5" drive 1, as many PC drives
don't have drive select jumpers and are set to DS1 on-board.

Also, you can't use HD media with a Coco unless your disk controller is
modified to use that mode. Not all controllers can be modified for this, and
I think only OS9/NitrOS9 supports the high density 1.44m mode.

You need DSDD media that doesn't have the second hole punched out opposite
the write protect slide. A real 720k 3.5" drive is best, but they are
expensive and hard to find these days.

I'd bet this is most likely your problem.

As for the cable, you just need to use a standard Coco cable with an adapter
like this: http://www.iec.net/l1065.html or
http://www.classiccmp.org/dunfield/img54306/h/adapt3.jpg

I don't see any on eBay, so you might need to check local computer stores to
see if they have any kicking around.

Or, crimp on the correct connector to your existing cable observing the
correct orientation of the key on the 34 pin connector you are adding.

I’ve been trying for a week or so to build a dual drive system with (1) 5 ¼”
and (1) 3 ½” drive in the same box. No matter how I build the cable it don’t
work. Does anyone have a drive setup like that? How is the cable designed?

Thanks
