Another disappointing PS to this thread.

Unfortunately, I just hit a dead end on little John's design.

The existing .brd we have indicates by its missing bits, that at least 3 
pcb's would be involved because the cpld is completely missing from this 
board.  It is only the bi-directional buffers.

The only pix I can find for Paul Barton's 8 slotter is a .jpg of the 
schematic.  And its big enough I'd need a commercial license for eagle to 
do it.  Its all on one board and about a foot long, holding the carts 
vertical but edge on so they would all be in a row left to right.  This 
would also stretch my small machine to its limits as my x travel, since 
the ball screw conversion is just a cat whisker north of 11".

Are there any other designs out there besides these 2, neither of which is 
much help unless Paul's eagle files could be resurrected from someplace.  
No sign of them in the "resurrected" CoCoZilla sites.

Is Paul still around & breathing regularly?
