[Coco] 24Pin to 28Pin EPROM Adapter PCB for sale

I just remembered that you included 2 of those sockets and I used one to socket the CPU in a spare 26-3127B in storage. It has a different lay out too. I will pull it out tomorrow and see how the ProTector+ fits with it and let you know.

Chad,

It appears that the socket on your motherboard is a single or double dual wipe type and not the machined socket that was purchased with the Pro-Tector+

Honestly I never had a CoCo2 until after the Pro-Tector+ was designed. I would have to go look at what model it was.

Any case the reason it unseats itself is due to the original socket on the CC2. Pro-Tector+ requires the machine Augat style socket that was supplied with the purchase to be installed.

As far as it hitting the other chip, put the correct socket on first. Second need better light in your video under the board.

The only devices on the bottom side are the decoupling caps and a pullup resistor 0805 types.

I still had the extra socket Cloud-9 included in case a socket needed to be installed in the motherboard so I tried this...It works for the CPU but now the keyboard wont seat on the posts and allow the case to go back on right.

Unfortunately, I could not view the link you provided…

My initial suggestion would be to insert another high quality 40 pin socket in between the ProTector+ and the socket on the motherboard. That should raise the ProTector+ up enough to clear any adjacent ICs.

The ProTector+ is sitting on top of the IC chip immediately to the left of the CPU and will not full seat. This results in tension that, over a short period of time, caused the ProTector+ to come unseated enough to crash the computer. How do we fix this sir? (See here..)
