And if you want the modern key layout an easy way to get that to work would be to patch the CoCo BASIC ROM and rewrite the OS-9 key driver. Heck, on a CoCo 3, you don't even have to change the ROM, just make a program to patch BASIC in RAM, since it runs that way anyway.
