[Coco] Extended Basic Upgrade Options

If you are handy with a soldering iron and some 30 gauge connecting wire
you can actually make your own adapter with a 24-pin DIP socket and a
28-pin DIP socket. There are only a few wires that need to be
re-arranged. The majority of the pins on the 24-pin ROMs map directly
to the lower 24-pins of a 28-pin socket.

I modified all of my CoCo stuff (computers and disk controllers) that
way and they worked great. All of my old CoCo stuff is gone now,
though, so I can't offer you a photograph.

Although it is tempting to order those 50pc 24 pin eProms mentioned in one of the emails I think from what I am reading here the 28 pin are more abundant and reliable. So if you can sell me a conversion kit that would be great! After that all I need to know is should I look on eBay for a inexpensive burner? Thank you, Don Akins

Is there a 26-3027 Coco 2 or is it a 26-3127 Coco 2? If so, I have a 26-3127 I can use to check for layout correctness. I had made it to adapt the 24 pin rom socket in my floppy controllers to accept 28 pin 2764 eproms, but until now I have not needed to use it to adapt rom sockets on CoCo motherboards. I'm on vacation at the moment, but when I get back home Sunday, I'll check it out for you. I can provide the Extended Basic 1.1 rom you need also. I thought you might what to know.
