So i think, a FPGA solution should be IMHO 100% compatible to existing ROMs/Software...

Interesting thinks are IMHO: Adapt modern periphery to the FPGA solution.
e.g.:
   * build in SD-Card floppy, like: HXC Floppy Emulator
   * UBS Keyboard witch emulates the origin keyboard matrix

So it's some kind of a XRoar Emulation in a FPGA.
