Alternatively, have them in your home directory under "~/.xroar/roms/".

An order picked to work around various bugs...

Interesting - should be fine - emu should adapt to whatever samplerate
SDL gives it.  Latest release defaults to -ao-fragments 2 - you could
try raising that.
