Ben,
The only help available will be in the Help directory which should have been 
created when RainbowIDE was installed. You have just run into one of Roger's 
major frustrations with MESS. MESS would change parameters needed to start 
emulation and screw up the IDE functions.

While you can generate custom MESS options via the RainbowIDE menu, there is no 
method for customizing all needed parameters short of editing rainbow.exe 
directly. Because of this, Roger recommended that specific versions of MESS 
should be used.
For RainbowIDE 1.6 he recommended use MESS .134 .

If you are adventuresome, you can try editing rainbow.exe. Search for -flop or 
-flop0 and edit that to read -flop1. MESS has changed the numbering of the 
floppies from 0-3 to 1-4.
Now RainbowIDE should work with current versions of MESS.
