Remember that the latest XRoar also supports the 6309 as well as becker port and can be run with a debugging system...
I'm sure Ciaran can fill you in on the details

Not even close, although I do see the bootdebug sequence. I haven't a clue what 
is going on but my test system is not the best. I've been running test disks in 
MESS with coco3h emulation to get the 6309 cpu. I don't have a Coco1 or Coco2 
with a 6309cpu. VCC will not work with Level1.

What has been happening is that eventually the opcode jmp ,x goes to 
never-never-land but whether that is a MESS problem or 6309 Level1 native mode 
is unknown so far.
