Incidentally, a 4800x1200 dpi image at 48 bits per dot on an 8x10 area 
would take about 46 seconds to transmit assuming that you were getting 
the full bandwidth out of USB 2.0 connection.  This would certainly not 
allow one to reach anywhere near 18 ppm.
