I'm curious -- I keep seeing this cell phone thing brought up in regards to Radio Shack. While it's true that about ten years ago, they made a big push in to cell phones and become the #1 activator of them in the U.S., that hasn't been the case for many years. They have them, but so does Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and pretty much everywhere else (pre-paid phones at gas stations, grocery stores, etc.).

The e-mails I get from RadioShack, and what they post to their social media feeds, are hardly dominated by cell phones. Mostly, it's gadgets, chargers, creativity/maker stuff.

In all my visits to RadioShack in the past few years, not once has any clerk there even asked me about my phone. When I sold cell phones, that was what we were taught to do ... "hey, who do you use for your cell phone? how good is their coverage?"
