[Coco] Floppy drive belts

I have nothing directly related here, but I did have some problems with a belt slipping off a recently purchased CoCo drive. The device was an old TEC, and luckily the belt was made out of some kind of mylar or celluloid, which had stretched a good bit in storage and was wont to slip off the drive spindle, but hadn't degraded as rubber would have. In that case, I was able to just adjust the tension to be a bit higher. The drive works fine now, though I assume that you probably have a rubber belt and in that case, tightening the mechanism isn't as likely to help.
