On Tuesday 24 September 2013 15:31:36 Bill Pierce did opine:

I don't recall what address I actually wound up using, but it was up in
that neck of the woods. The WP-RS needs 4 addresses in the usual block,
but the OEM decoding used 2 addrresses from the top of one 4 byte block,
and 2 addresses from the bottom of the next block up, which meant it hogged
8 of the coco's very valuable I/O addresses. So the iron got warmed up &
that got fixed, and the drivers defines fixed to reflect the fix, but
AFAIK, none of that ever made it onto the copper leaving the place.

So I would suggest that its address needs, only 2 byte wide, should be made
portable enough to put it anyplace in the $FF7X block except of course for
the $FF7F of the MPI's control registers.
