I think it is a DNS issue:

$ host nitros9.org
$
$ host nitros9.org NS3.NITROS9.ORG
Using domain server:
Name: NS3.NITROS9.ORG
Address: 88.190.25.44#53
Aliases:

nitros9.org has address 88.190.25.44

...and the server on that address is up.


$ host www.nitros9.org
Host www.nitros9.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
$
$ host www.nitros9.org NS3.NITROS9.ORG
Using domain server:
Name: NS3.NITROS9.ORG
Address: 88.190.25.44#53
Aliases:

www.nitros9.org is an alias for vhost.sourceforge.net.
