I think that is great advice, and I've heard this same warning repeated by a 
few others.  I'm almost exclusively a buyer, but I plan to start selling 
stuff later this summer.  I might feel differently about selling after I 
have that experience.

EBay and Paypal are necessary evils to me.  As a buyer, I have no problem.
As a seller, the fees have gotten high enough that I only use Ebay if I
have to, which is very little because if you search you can always find a
forum or mailing list to sell stuff on for no charge.
