Those drive are referred to collectively as PDD or TPDD (portable disk drive or tandy...) And the protocol they speak is very much still in use by us "model t" nuts. Tpdd server software runs on everything from msdos to unix to windows and even palm pilot.

The bad news:
*those drives are rapidly dieing of old age.
*the msdos software to control one is rare and hard to find.

The good news:
*The protocol is fairly well documented on the bitchin100 wiki.
*the same software would let you use a NADSbox or tpdd server.

A more useful project imho would be a tpdd server on the coco. Or a drivewire client for the model 100.
