That will probably also work, getting it from the environment, but that has 
a small time window after a cd has been done where it could be invalid.  
Use the backticks `` for that.  What that does is it actually runs the pwd 
command, and feeds its response back into NITROS9DIR, which you then see as 
$NITROS9DIR, as in "echo $NITROS9DIR" which should now be set to whatever 
directory you were in when the export was done.
