You will need to supply much more information to get a useful answer.

1) Which MESS, mess.exe or messui.exe?
2) URL for a test game, Canyon Climber or other. Are these tape or disk?
3) Settings used in MESS regards video, memory, disk access, etc.
4) Which emulation?
5) Anything else that might be relevant.
