Must be your LCD -- it works fine on my Dell 2001FP.  Anyway, there
is no "fast switching" involved with this mode.

FWIW, the "hack" is to the composite video _signal_ (i.e. not anything
specific to a CRT).  So the mode should display on any compliant NTSC
composite video monitor.
