[Coco] Coco .... having bad luck with Jameco components

I've heard of various components being sold that were sub-standard, 
particularly the 2N3055 power transistor.

If you need to make changes, have you seen the "replacement" switch-mode 
"7805" chip as described in "Elektor" magazine in the last few months?
