The SmartWatch battery gets recharged when the computer is in use.  If your
MM/1 has been idle for a long period, it's possible the battery might
revive if you started using it.  Though I have no doubt the battery doesn't
last forever.
One of the SmartWatch features is that there's a "sleep mode" you can put
it into to preserve the battery life if you anticipate a long period of
disuse.
