Allen,
I also like this idea you have come up with and I sure would jump in and
help if I had a place to setup a web site. As soon as I'm employed again,
I'll be happy to help with this. In the meantime though, does anybody have
any ideas on setting up a web site for just the right price, as in for
nothing?
I do have two Cisco Content Engines. Is it possible to set up a simple web
site on one? I don't think there is any apache, php, perl, or any other web
server type package like that running on them. They just serve raw files as
far as I know. I set up an internal FTP site once when I was studying Cisco
Internetworking several years ago to serve Cisco IOS image files. Anyhow,
Any help would be appreciated.
I read your OS-9 AL web site recently. You have done quite a bit over the
years. I'd love to know OS-9, NitrOS-9 as well as you and the other folks
here do. Keep up the good work, Allen. Thanks in advance for any help
which as always is appreciated
Kip.

Allen,
I like the idea of a banner sharing system. The old "webring" concept has
become nothing more tha an ad spam with a few links that are ridiculous to
access the actual page. I would be glad to set up a page on my site and I
know Guillaume Major would ley me set on up on the Color Computer Archives.
Let's get together and come up with a templet for the page and see if it
flies.
Anyone else with a site interested?

I was noticing this as I was typing up that page. But the difference is, my
intent was a place someone who did a Google could find that would tell them
where CoCo stuff was happening -- rather than a larger traditional FAQ. I
guess we just need to define the types of CoCo folks that are out of the
loop and what they would be looking for.
Does anyone out there have a CoCo Wordpress or other blog that has
statistics? I would be curious to see how people are finding your site. On
my www.appleause.com site where I write about Apple, Arduino, Halloween
projectors, etc., I have been amazed at the daily hits I get from people
looking up how to unstick an old 1998 Furby! When I discover something, I
just post it there so it can be found. I see hits for FireWire-SATA and
various other pages I made.
Someone with a CoCo blog might be able to give us some good insight on what
"the other folks" are looking for when they look for CoCo.
And I think it might be time to start something like the old web rings and
banner exchanges. But, instead of rotating sites and ads, it would be a
common thing every CoCo page could put on their site, linking to one summary
page somewhere of what was going on. I could see a page with current news
(CoCoFest, new product announcements) following by links to major points of
interest in our community.
I am just a bit surprised at how easy it is for me to find some obscure
stuff when I look it up, but how difficult it is to find CoCo related
things.
