[Coco] eprom programmer

Ok I'm going crazy with this...perhaps I should stop drinking...but It is
looking to be entirely within the realm of possibility to pull this off.

Instead of having a bunch of crazy switches for each address line, I was
looking at a Binary Encoder to handle the selections.

I figure 1 of these modules could work for a 27128, or 2 of them for a
'monster' setup with a 29EE20.

I did find a diagram and compared it with the 27128 diagram..There are extra
address lines on the end (expected) and the VCC/VPP power points have been
moved redone..but it still runs off 5VDC for read mode just like the 27128.
On the high pin (32) there is a VDD, pin 1 is NC.. So what would I do with
the original VPP (pin1) and VCC (pin28) points? I could cut the traces and
re-route..but to where?

This may be a shot in the dark, but a while back I got a batch of SST 29EE20
EEPROM's They are 256k @ 32-pn, so I have I would have 4 pins hanging over
the edge of the 502 ROM socket.

Question is, is anyone familiar with 29EE20's? (used in some older PC
motherboards for BIOS) http://www.ebay.com/itm/190491783701 (examples) If
so, any possibility of making use this in the 502 Controller? The thought
of having up to 32 selectable ROM's on one chip is...::drool: :~

I am still looking for PIN diagram for these, but so far nothing.

I'm thinking the same thing!! :-) I just need to figure out which ROM
version I would want besides drivewire. I do have a scsi adaptor but to use
that with a floppy controller means I'd need an MPI and I've got a SuperIDE
with the a version of jdb-dos with scsi support. It's nice to have the
option though!
