I am also thinking about that. This could be done right now with a $16 Teensy and some soldering. Or, the $19 and something that goes between the header pins and the CoCo keyboard connector. Imagine taking a dead CoCo, and removing the motherboard. Inside is a small computer and you mount CoCo joystick plugs in the back, a reset button and stuff, and the keyboard. You could send all those out via USB as mouse or keyboard or special keys :-)
