Darren, my 1991 Hitachi 8/16 bit cpu data book doesn't have the RP 
variation of the HD63#09 family, however I would assume that indicates a 
packaging variation of some sort.  Likely it is still a 40 pin device, but 
could even be a TSSOP, or some variation of the same PLCC packaging as the 
GIME chip is, but with fewer contacts.  The final P I expect means its an 
Epoxy-B package for its encapsulation.  Continuing on a few pages, the 
HD64180 is available in several variations, in this case the number of 
address pins bonded out, allowing either 512 KiB of ram, or 1 MiB of ram to 
be addressed, but all 3 variations are available in 64 pin DIP, or a 
surface mount similar to a TSSOP, or a PLCC.  There, the R version is the 
512k capable address bond out.

Sorry I can't be more help.

If you have located a quantity of them, I would first request a closeup 
photo from the seller before I'd drop the card unless you are up to 
fabricating a socket adapter to go with them so that they would be usable 
in the coco's, which need a 40 pin dip package.  In any event, the suffix E 
is needed for the coco's as that is the External clock version.  I don't 
believe the RP is bonded out for External clocking in any event.
