True, the development of C did open the doors for companies like Apple to
make their products,
but Dennis Ritchie wasn't a businessman nor visionary. C/Unix did not sell
Apple computers no make the impact on computing like the Mac and Apple II.
Understanding the business aspects of selling computers in the 80's was
important to sell Apple's products. Yes, Apple made some mistakes, but
they've also made several comebacks from those mistakes. Not many companies
get that opportunity and are successful.

Don't get me wrong- Dennis (et al) did some groundbreaking work, but they
didn't make,sell, nor market computers or OSs.
