From what I can remember, you can boot it off of a floppy, as long as /dd etc. in the boot file points the B&B, and you have the B&B driver in the bootfile (you can boot even faster if you have the special B&B BOOT module on the kernal track of the floppy, and then you can load OS9Boot, etc. from the hard drive itself).
