I feel your pain.  There were a couple of minor details that are easy to 
miss.  Took me days to get it going.

One major stumbling block:  The numbering of the slide switches and 
momentary buttons is bass-ackwards to my Western sensibilities; running 
from right --> left.  Beyond that, remember that they start from _zero_, 
not one.  The little identifiers on the silkscreening are/were too small 
for me to see with my late-50s eyesight.

I spent days flipping on and off what I thought was SW7.  It was actually 
SW2.  Once the light went on, I was soon off and running.

Check the list archives for a looongggg thread featuring yours truly. 
There may be something valuable to be gleaned.  Or, there may only be the 
impression that I am great at confusing myself :-).
