[Coco] Help Multi- Pack connections

Good Afternoon Coco Friends

I just found several pieces of coco gear and want too hook the system
together but I am gripped with fear.
If I let the "White smoke out of a piece of equipment, I won't be able to
put it back in.

I want to plug the J & M floppy drive  controller into the multi- pack
but I don't know which way to
plug.  Is pin one ( 1 ) on the side closest to the coco3 ? The "RED"
stripe on the ribbon cable  on 
the left side as I look at the front of the J & M controller unit.

I wanted to avoid removing the cover from the FD controller.
