In general, no installation is needed, just mount a .dsk image and use 
it. Please post any errors you are getting and/or exactly what you are 
trying to do.

Specific to MESS, OS-9 .dsk images should have their extensions changed 
from .dsk to .os9 . That will enable you to boot correctly from the 
image. The JVC emulator needs other adjustments to boot OS-9 depending 
on the type of image in use.

Regards a .vhd image, they get mounted like any other disk image. 
Similarly, use of a .vhd image in NitrOS-9 requires the correct 
driver/descriptor pair be included in the os9boot file. Do you know how 
to create a custom boot file or are you just having problems with emulators?
