MMC and CF cards can work with a SPI protocol. There are HDL opensources that 
do this and a wrapper around that could be done to make it look like the coco was 
accessing a disk drive. That may  have already been done. The SPI protocol is rather 
simple to understand. So this does not appear to be a major issue.
