Evenmore if the core could be dumped into IBM 0.13 micron 8RF-LM/DM process. Probably  
upwards to 150MHz or more. 

I believe the original MC6809 was done on 1.5 or 3 micron NMOS process. The original die 
was about 0.325 by 0.350 inches on a 4 inch diameter wafer. That proces basically limited 
speeds to about 3 MHz with the level of gates used in the combinatorial logic to form control 
logic of the processor. 0.13 micron process is capable of far faster speeds and smaller area 
for the die. ALso with increased speed, the part will work at 1.2 to 1.8VDC with the core.
