Even though I'm using the full Ubuntu install, I've installed (not by 
apt-get) XFCE, and I was quite impressed by it. Although there might be 
a few things that I would want on it, I like it alot, especially using 
XGL. :)

Full Ubuntu works great with an AMD K6/2 333MHz with 512meg of RAM and a 
Maxtrox Millennium. It, obviously, kills Windows XP performance wise on 
it. (Which is my dad's machine. After dad got sick of constant problems, 
I got him back in to Linux. He's quite happy now.)

I'll admit I didn't care much for the way Mark Shuttleworth (sp?) made a 
post on the SuSE mailing list trying to get people to move over to 
Ubuntu in the light of the Novell / Microsoft deal. I was actually quite 
disgusted...

But aside from that, I hadn't heard of Ubuntu until 6.06 was almost 
released. A friend suggested that I try it... Well, from my previous 
post, you know the story.

I've played with a few distros in the past, though. RedHat, Mandrake 
(UGH.), Puppy, obviously Debian. I'm sure there are a few others. Debian 
by far has been the one that, *ahem*, brought me out of the stone age. 
Ubuntu was a choice made, not from hype (because I didn't hear it at all 
until much after I installed it), but because it worked on my machine 
without quite as much hassle. As I said, I'm getting a bit lazy these 
days. :)

Again, I agree. :)

How does this relate to the CoCo? Linux is the OS that you can play with 
a tweak for the PC. OS-9 was the OS that you could play with a tweak for 
the CoCo. Logical jump from one to the other, I'd say. ;)

Yeah, yeah, It's OT. A simple suggestion turns into a friendly debateish 
type thingy. Sowwy. :(
