Is this CoCo MAX 1/2, or CoCo MAX 3? If you have a CoCo 3 with a 6309,
Roger Taylor's "The Projector 3.1" can load CoCo MAX (1, 2, and 3)
images and save them as GIF files. You can download this program at
coco3.com. I haven't tried it in an emulator. I think you may be able
to do something similar with View 4.4 in OS-9. I'm sure there are
various other utility programs available in the graphics section of
os9archive.rtsi.com that will convert from CoCo MAX formats to something
that can be displayed on the PC.

As for physically transferring the files to the PC, that can be done by
floppy disk, if you have physically compatible floppy drives between the
CoCo and PC, using the PORT.EXE DOS program that comes with Jeff
Vavasour's CoCo emulators (maybe others?). You can also use the 'pcdos'
utility in OS-9. There are probably others. You can also transfer
files with a null-modem serial cable and terminal programs using XMODEM
or ZMODEM, or with a more modern utility like Cloud 9's DriveWire.
