Sure, here it is. Note that this isn't the entire message, as this
popped up in a discussion of Smartwatch+ADOS unhappiness Dr. Goodman
was experiencing. You can read the entire thread at

(I've already looked in to how to add an external battery to the
SmartWatch, against the time when
the battery potted in expoxy in the module gives out. It looks like it
might be relatively easy:

Grind down and disconnect one of the existing internal battery's connectors,
then solder wires to pin 4 (or to jumpered pins 4 and 14... need to check
out whether I need to hook up both bat 1 and bat 2, or just bat 1) and to
pin 8 (gnd) of the 16 pin "DS1216" chip in the module, hooking them to the +
and -, respectively, of an external 3 volt lithium battery.

By the way, it's easy to test the battery voltage on a smartwatch module:
Measure voltage between ground and pin 4, or between ground and pin 14 (pin
8 is ground). Or measure voltage between pin 8 (ground) and either one of
two of the four solder pads on the PC board substrate that's toward the
right top of the chip module ... on the circuit board just above the
physical DS1216 chip itself. This with the module on the bench, with the
ROM chip removed.
