Gene,
I believe you are thinking of the missed IRQ problem. That was fixed by 
toggling GIME IRQ in the clock module. The BLOB bug is a different problem.

The correct explanation of the BLOB (there are others) is on RTSI.

this paper is under OS-9 as the problem has nothing to do with OS-9 but 
rather is a Western Digital controller problem.

We have added blob stop code to NitrOS-9 so it should no longer be 
afflicted by this problem.
