I liked your final response.

Seriously I think it would be interesting to write a little article and post
to Slashdot. If it makes it to the front page, at least it enters the public
record... when someone tries to argue before congress about orphaned works
again, they can use this as a good example of why new legislation is
necessary.

Even people who can't determine what their rights are threatening suit.
That's fantastic. I think she was unsettled the most by the fact that you
knew what you were talking about.
