Mike,
  Your confusing CDR's with CDRW's. It is true about CDR's, you can burn 
them but can not

just drag-n-drop, or copy, files. CDRW'son the other hand you can drag-n-drop
and copy files. CDRW's act just like a floppy or hard drive.  Same applies
to DVDR and DVDRW.
